Photo Gallery - Main Body Page Detail

The photo gallery allows you to display photos of students, projects, etc. and allows four different options when choosing how they are to be displayed.    When uploading these pictures, the system will automatically resize and optimize the pictures for you if you designate the height and width within the tool.  Each of your pictures can contain a photo title, album overview, photo description and full album description to provide further details.  Most of these are optional and are not required to add a photo gallery to your website.  However, when used, they provide useful detail to your website visitors.

  1. Pictured above is a photo gallery with Option 1 chosen.  Pictures are displayed one at a time with previous/next links.
  2. Two albums, Elementary Students and High School Students have been added to this tool.  An overview has been added and appears on the right side of the page. The overview is optional.
  3. Each photo can have a title (Excellent Teacher to Student Ratio) optional
  4. Photos can have also have a full description (If you want to include....)  optional
  5. The full album description displays below the photos.  optional

Option 2 displays all thumbnails on the webpage. The user can click on a thumbnail to open a pop up screen with a larger view and description.   The first thumbnail is displayed in the screen shot above.

Photo titles, album titles, photo description and album descriptions are also displayed if added.

Option 3 above  will display all thumbnails. The user may click on a thumbnail to view a larger photo and description underneath the thumbnails.

Option 4 above will display all thumbnails on the right. The user can click on a thumbnail to view a larger photo and description to the left of the thumbnails.

In the Navigation Builder click on the Main Body link of the page where the Photo Gallery Tool will be displayed. If no Right Side tools are used, the Main Body will use the full width of the page except for the left side navigation links. When tools are added to the Right Side, all tools in the Main Body will automatically resize to optimally fit the smaller width of the Main Body area.

  1. Select Photo Gallery from the Add Tool to this page: drop down list.
  2. Choose the position of the tool on the page. The default is at the top of the page. The item showing in the drop down list should be the tool that should display directly above the tool being added. The first tool added will only have the "Place at top of page" in the drop down.
  3. Click the Add button.

Once tool has been added to the page, the above screen will display.

To begin adding photos, click Add Album.

Don't forget to provide a Tool Heading if desired by clicking on edit.

  1. Choose the placement of this album by selecting the Position After from the drop down menu.  The album title and display type are required as is indicated by the red asterisks.
  2. Enter album title in text box provided.
  3. Choose display option 1-4.  See previous screen shots to help you decide which option best fits your needs.
  4. Read the paragraph for suggestions to help choose appropriate height and width for your photos.  Enter values or leave blank to accept the defaults.
  5. The album overview is optional, but can provide the user helpful descriptions when more than 1 album is included on the page.
  6. Likewise the full album description is optional, but as you can see in the above screen shots, adds useful informatin to the page.

To add photos to an existing album, click the Photos link.

You may add from 1 - 10 photos at a time to an album.   Choose the appropriate number from the drop down list and click Add.

Note:  You must add the number of photos chosen.

  1. Enter a photo title if desired.
  2. Click Choose File, locate the file, and click Open.  Note that files must be .jpg, .gif, or .png files.
  3. Continue steps 1 & 2 until all photos have been added.
  4. Scroll to bottom and click Add.

After photos have been added, the above window is displayed.  

The title appears to the right of the photo.

Links to move the photo up or down are available.

Update provides the opportunity to add/edit a photo title or description.

The delete link allows you to remove the photo from the album.

If changes are made, scroll to the bottom and click Update.

When you have finished editing the photos in this album, click Back to Albums>> at the top.
